CITY OF NEWARK AND NEWARK HOUSING AUTHORITY TO HOLD RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY TO OFFICIALLY OPEN NEW POLICE HEADQUARTERS

 

ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14, AT 11 A.M., AT 480 CLINTON AVENUE, NEWARK’S SOUTH WARD

New state-of-the-art 75,000 square-foot Police Precinct

 

 

Newark, NJ – November 10 , 2011 – Mayor Cory A. Booker, Members of the Newark Municipal Council, Newark Housing Authority Board Chair and Mayor’s Chief of Staff Modia Butler, Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio, Police Chief Sheilah A. Coley, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Director Keith Isaac and other dignitaries will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the City of Newark’s new Police Headquarters, on Monday, November 14, at 11 a.m., at 480 Clinton Avenue, in Newark’s South Ward.

 

 

 

 

The new Police Headquarters, which will also house the 5TH Police Precinct and Office of Emergency Management, will be an approximately 75,000 square-foot state-of-the-art police facility.  The facility has a glass facade at its front and a community room, which will be open to the public for neighborhood meetings and other public events.
